Developers and marketers who want to know exactly what COKIQ sends to Google tags.
Descriptions below follow Google's consent mode reference. COKIQ sends all of them in the default command and in every update.
Enables storage, such as cookies, related to advertising.
Sets consent for sending user data related to advertising to Google.
Sets consent for personalized advertising.
Enables storage, such as cookies, related to analytics, for example, visit duration.
Storage that supports the functionality of the website, for example language settings, and storage related to personalization, for example video recommendations.
Storage related to security such as authentication functionality, fraud prevention, and other user protection.
Step 1
Before any Google tag: all types denied except security_storage, with wait_for_update 500 (milliseconds Google tags wait for an update). With the regional setting, a granted default for all regions plus a denied default for the EEA, UK and Switzerland.
Step 2
Google: when ad_storage is denied, ad click identifiers sent in network requests by Google Ads and Floodlight tags will be redacted.
Step 3
Google: passes information about ad clicks and client IDs through URL parameters across pages, to improve measurement when cookies are denied.
Step 4
After every Accept, Reject or Save, COKIQ sends gtag("consent", "update", ...) with the mapped values and pushes the cokiq_consent_update event to the dataLayer.
Step 5
COKIQ sets its Google developer ID with gtag("set", "developer_id.<id>", true) after the page loads, once Google has issued it.
The mapping follows the banner categories. Contact support@cokiq.com if you need a different mapping for a site.
Consent Mode is a Google feature that passes the visitor's choice to Google tags. It is not designed to meet any particular law on its own.
